Jobs for student nurses

Anyone know of jobs for nursing students? I'd appreciate it greatly!!

:nurse:

I work every week as a nurse apprentice (NAP) at a local hospital. The pay is good...about $3 more an hour than a CNA.

The best thing about it is that I get to practice my skills every time I work. I have a very liberal hospital that allows me to do everything except hang blood, IV push, hang IV meds and accu-checks. Last week I started an IV and did an NG tube.

After a friend and I got our jobs and told others in our class about it, it seemed like 20 more people got jobs as NAPS at our hospital and others. Although some basically do CNA work with higher pay.

Hope this helps!

I hate to say this ... it is such a standard answer ... but it is the best answer to your question.

Have you talked with the Nurse Recruiters at your local hospitals and other health care agencies? There are lots of opportunities out there, but they vary from place to place. You're simply going to have to call them up and ask.

Also, keep in mind that if you have not had clinical courses yet, you will be more limited in your choices. However, sometimes, those clerical jobs, housekeeping jobs, etc. can get your foot in the door -- and put you in a position to observe (and learn) a lot of things. You can also build a good reputation as an employee that will serve you well later.

Good luck,
