HI,

Can anyone tell me about agencies that are hiring nurses in mental retardation/developmental disabilites nursing? I am particularly interested in the Central Florida - Orlanda area.

Hellooo and Happy Holidays!!!

There is a few state instutions and U can probably find them at myflorida.com looking under employment. Though the state places generally hire only RN but use Pool LPN's (????) :rotfl:

I am currently working for ResCare http://www.rescare.com and they have "clusters" of dd group homes in fl and many other states that require more medical care than the normal group homes. Though the benefits and pay are lacking severely, compared to the state plans, I love my clients and job!

I am not in your area; but I have held two positions with the MR/DD population as an RN. One in pediatric long-term care and the other for a school district as a 1:1 RN for a medically fragile child with MR/DD. Both experiences have been great.
