Job offer after nursing school

Hello..

I would like to share this with all you guys and hear some stories about your experience as a volunteer ..

I am recently a volunteer in a facility where all the patients are kids... (huge hospital btw).. I do my volunteer hours in the PICU area ... last week when i was leaving, the lady in charge of the department... asked me to stay for a little.. Her conversation started complimenting my excellent job as a volunteer and so ... After a few compliments she asked me to be part of a project that they were doing related to new volunteers coming to the PICU area to do their hours. We all know that pediatric intensive care unit is not for everyone and not too many people can handle the type of environments that its seeing in there. ..... so far i love it and i really see myself one day as a nurse pediatric... well at the end on the conversation the director of the department of volunteer came and asked what i was studying and where... I told her i am a pre-nurse stundent in community college.. She smiled at me and said " i see that you are going to be a good nurse, keep in mind that we want you here with us, we want you to be part of this family and for so when you graduate come and see me , i am going to make sure that at least you have an interview with us." seriously, my heart stopped when she said that.. i was in shock and immediately i said thank you for all that and for the opportunity.

Now, i would like to hear your stories , if something like this happened to any of you... if you guys went back to that place and got the chance... and how was it?
