I've read through many of the threads and can see how difficult it is for new RN's to find a job. My one suggestion would be to take advantage of any job fairs available. Some hospitals have them for their own facilities. Nursing Spectrum also runs them periodically.
Make sure your resume is done to the very best. Sometimes the job fairs run "clinics" for things like resume writing.
Use the job fairs to network. And that means dressing for the job fair as if you are on an interview. Brush up on your interview skills.
And keep networking. If you have a specialty area, join the local professional organization.
I know you may have just gotten out of school, but while you are job hunting, consider things like IV certification. The more you can offer an employer, the better chance you have.
I feel for you guys. When I got out of school (1981), it wasn't difficult to find a job. Now there are less jobs, more non-professionals being trained for patient care, and even less hospitals to apply for. That is why I suggested job fairs. Insurance companies look for nurses, staffing companies. I know they don't all hire new grads, but it's worth asking.
Good Luck!!
