Job Hunting=Overrated

Hello all-- I will be graduating in May from a BSN program located in a very rural area near where I grew up. I REALLY want to get out of this area. I've been looking for jobs pretty much within a 50 mile radius of Peoria, IL which is where my boyfriend lives. I'm looking for a medsurg position, and so far I have applied at 6 different hospitals and have gotten 2 calls back, one of them for a larger hospital who pretty much told me "we have a lot of applicants, so you may or may not hear back from us, and it may be a few months if you do" and another smaller hospital that I wouldnt mind working at but they dont pay very well. I'm starting to get frustrated... I've been blatantly rejected from 2 of the hospitals I applied at. If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Amy

You may want to consider taking the job at the hospital that pays less if it allows you the opportunity to gain some experience and be near your boyfriend. You don't have to stay there forever and you can gain some valuable experience then move on. You may find that you love it, regardless of the pay.

How far do you want to drive?? I know the hospitals in Decatur and Springfield are hiring.

I'm graduating this month, and I agree 110% with this post!!!
