I have a question related the use of a J/G tube. I have a homecare client whose balloon has deflated. Is it OK to use the G port if placement can be verified by gastric secretions? I know the only way to verify placement of the J port is via xray. This client must go a long distance to have the tube changed and it can only be done M-F 8 am to 5 pm. Right now feeding is stopped (it is 7pm ET). call MD and he prefers tube not be used. Just curious if it would be safe to use the G port. Thanks
