IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification - Anyone?

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

I am signing up to take IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification later this month. I was wondering if anyone can share if this has helps in terms of obtaining more interviews and if so, what did your potential employer say, if anything about this certification?

I'm really excited about being able to have this certification as it really makes a huge difference in being able to practice as a nurse.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Specializes in CNA, LVN, RN.

This absolutely makes a difference in obtaining an interview, and a position. I know because not only was I in your position many years ago, but I am also an employer. I would not even consider hiring an LVN without this certification.

I do not bring this up during an interview because I screen my potential applicants for many qualifications, and if this is not one of their certifications, I do not call them back.

What I will tell you is that some applicants have this certification and do not place this on their resumes, but this is what prevents a qualified candidates resume making it to my "qualified" candidate pile for a second round of screening.

You are on the right track! Good luck!

Hi Savvy!

I'm take one later this month at my school. We have to wait until we are done, or almost done with the program before we can take it (completely makes sense since we have so many other classes anyway).

Thanks Educated Nurse for your advice, much appreciated!!!!!!:)

Positivenfun, I'm taking it at Gurnick San Mateo, what about you?
