I have been a lpn for five years and want to go back to school.

Just wondering if anyone has taken any classes from iss? I have

looked at several distance learning courses and this one does not

require a contract. Any info would help.

I looked into all of the study companies: Chancellor's, Rue, College Network... and from what I understand, with Istudy smart system, you still need to purchase books. The others are all inclusive, supposedly. I use Chancellor's and have gotten "A"s on NC1,3 &4 so far. I liked the fact that they came with audio cd's included and I think that Chancellor's are priced lower than any of the others. Of course, you do have a contract. I sell mine as soon as I am done on Ebay and get some of my investment money back. I guess that I figure it is worth the $295/study guide to have the material condensed down so I spend less time looking for what I need to know. I took my first exam in late january and have taken one every 4-5 weeks since. This is the pace I can handle since I work full time, have a husband that travels for work and 4 kids. I am looking to be an RN by December of this year...pending all of the paperwork, CPNE hoops .

I didn't use ISS, i did pick up a couple of chancellors guides on ebay for pretty cheap, but i like the textbooks the best. You just gotta figure out what you like the best. I also used another website which is run by Sheri Taylor (she also does CPNE workshops, which is one reason i chose that to use)- if you want a link to a sample video just Private message me and i'll send it to you, the thing i liked most was i could cancel at any time! The only video/audio lessons i didnt think were very good was LS3, not sure if it's be cause i rushed through them, or if I didnt understand the material but i got a D on that exam and have to retake it...all the others were spot on and Trans I onloy used these videos (cause the book was so stinkin' boring) and i got a C on it...not even sure i went all the way through all the videos to tell you the truth. just look around and dont invest much unless you need too! the books on ebay, half.com, and other textbooks sites are really your best bet!
