Hello, all. I am new here. Let me first start by saying I am not a nurse, nor am I in nursing school (at least not right now). I am currently a forensics student but was referred to this website by someone on another forum because, according to them, this would be a good site to get information about A&P 1 and lab.
My situation is I have registered for 4 classes this fall including the A&P lab, however, I registered for both the A&P and lab online, as right now there are no open campus classes. I work a full time job and have two little ones as well. I have no science background besides high school physical science and meteorology in undergrad.
Is it a good idea for me to take A&P 1 online plus the lab? Both are online (I don't believe there is any dissecting, that I'm aware of). What should I expect from this class? Is it so difficult that I should take it alone? I hear it could be a lot of reading, and memorization. I would love to hear from people who have taken it online or in class. I like the idea of being able to not drive to campus, but after hearing from some people (who also said they too HEARD from other people that the class was hard) I'm not sure if online is best. Any ideas or experiences?

I just completed A & P 2 online over the summer and did fairly well. It was a bit of a stressor as I am married, have have an 18 month old, and work part time. I was also only taking one other class. Its not really it being online that made it a bit difficult its the fact that it is a lot of reading and memorization and to successfully accomplish this, you would need to put some time in. Since you have a family and work full time, is it possible to reduce your class load a bit? I guess I am speaking from a pre nursing stand point where to get into a program where I'm at a B in biology classes is the minimum (an A is more of an guarantee.) If you feel that taking this course in combination with your other obligations will allow you to maintain the GPA that you need then it should not be a problem, but if you're in position where an A or B is necessary then this class (whether online or on campus) may be a bit of a stretch.
