Hey everyone!
I've basically wanted to help people and join the Navy for my entire life;therefore, Navy healthcare is a dream of mine. I used to always want to be a Doctor, but I know I'll want a family when I get older, I know I don't need barrels of money to be happy, the excessive training and residency seems very unappealing, and insane malpractice costs in the civilian sector- no thanks. So I became pushed away from that, and I still want to help people, so I've been thinking Nurse Practitioner. You get to help people, much less schooling, and what you do is somewhat similar to that of a doctor. Plus, it's looking like I could get an NROTC nursing scholarship and get into a top 15 nursing school.
Nursing sounds great, but I really like the medicine side of healthcare. Is that okay as a nurse? I want to make sure I don't want nursing for the wrong reasons. So what's your two cents?
Thanks!

You should volunteer at a hospital/clinic/nursing home and become more familiar with the healthcare enviroment and other careers. Even though you dont go to school as long as a physician it does not mean its easy. Nurisng requires a lot of energy, patience, and care. All in all I would suggest volunteering to see if it is for you.
Alright thanks, I appreciate it!
