I'm applying to UCLA's Entry Level Masters in Nursing program. I am considering asking my CNA instructor (who is an LVN) to write me a letter of recommendation (LOR). She can attest to my basic nursing skills, how I handle patients, etc. I think it would be good to have a letter writer who can attest to my practical nursing skills in addition to my other letter writers who can attest to my academic abilities.
However, I just wonder if UCLA would sneer at this letter writer since she's an LVN teaching a CNA course. I don't have any other letter writers who can REALLY write about my practical nursing skills and potential for nursing in this way. I am working as a CNA currently, but I rarely see my supervisors so the LOR would not be as strong coming from them. Opinions?
