Is houndstooth okay...

Getting ready for my first interviews. I received a great houndstooth jacket which is very sharp, as a gift. If I pared this with black or cream dress pants and a snappy pair of heels, is this okay? It looks very sharp, however I was uncertain if it was against "protocol" to wear something other than all black.

Houndstooth is fine. It doesn't have to be all black. On my interviews I wore a taupe suit with very fine lines of peach and cream in it. Just make sure the shoes aren't too open or strappy. That spells "fun" not work.
