I applied in person at a long term care facility today and so did someone else at the same time as me. She was really rude and I had a feeling the receptionist didn't like her because when we left at the same time, she gave me the director of nursing's number but didn't give it to the other applicant. She also told me that I would probably recieve a call in a about a week (which, she didn't tell the other applicant also) Is this a good sign I might be called back? I hear the receptionists usually put the applications from the people they like on top and other applicants closer to the bottom of the stack before giving it to the DON. Do receptionists make a difference in who gets hired? Is this a good sign that I might actually get called back? Thanks:nurse:

It could be a good sign. Of course, I've had job interviews that I just "knew" I had, only to never hear from them again. The receptionist sometimes does make a difference. I worked for a place where the receptionist would write comments on the top of the application, such as "dressed professionally."

It sounds good, so far! (: It depends, though. At my work before I was hired, the receptionist gave my application to the ADON and the ADON lost it!
Wow! lol how did she eventually find it?
