Is arthritis heritary???

I just found out my 20 year old daughter has DJD (degenerative joint disease, aka osteoarthrittis). She went to the doctor today and was told her hips look much older than her 20 years.

I ask my question because I have arthritis in my neck bad enough so I can not wear a stethascope around my neck because it causes pain. I was also told my neck looks like the neck of an 80 year old instead of a 40 year old.

I know rheumatoid can be heritary but can osteoarthritis be heritary??
