Is anybody familiar with tacoma new grad residencies?

Published

I'm hoping that somebody who graduated this last year or so can fill us in on the new grad residencies available at TG and St.Joes. How do you like them? Is it split up half classroom, half floor? How long is it, are the teachers good? What king of contract did you have to sign or did you sign one at all? Thanks everybody!

I have a year experience (with some ICU but mostly med-surg) and I was placed in the "fast-track program" which is a residency in which you receive 40% classroom and 60% clinicals for 3 months. After that it sounds like you train for about a year before you are officially on your own. Otherwise I believe that new grads also do classroom and clinicals but begin in the step down unit and work their way up to ICU, which is understandable. I have not begun yet so I am not able to offer you anymore of the specifics of the position.
