ipn challenges

U.S.A. Florida

I'm in ipn in Florida, and if there is any other Florida nurses out there in this program, maybe you can offer me some words of wisdom. I have a one year narcotic key restriction with approximately 8 months to go. I am currently not working. Well, I should rephrase that. I am working once a week as a volunteer offering free medical care to the homeless. This is applied toward the one year narcotic key restriction. I have had a very difficult time finding a job. I have been offered so many jobs, and came so close to getting many of the ones I've interviewed for, but it all boils down to having that key restriction which prevents me from getting the job. When I ask IPN for suggestions, they are not too helpful. All they say is that they know it's hard, but all the other nurses in the program have found work. I'm wondering if I'll work as an RN before the next 8 months is up or not. My back round is in cardiac nursing. I am of course open to new avenues of nursing, as I needed a change from the hospital setting. Please! If there is any other Florida IPN nurses out there to whom I can talk with in regards to the in's and out's of IPN, (as they pretty much keep you in the dark about everything!) I would greatly appreciate it. I am in the mental health aspect of IPN, and it's only me and one other nurse in the group. PLEASE help. Thank you! :0):confused::confused:
