I have an interview in the Boston area coming up this week! I am hoping for words of advice, encouragement or tips on the interview process. I have been doing a lot of research but hearing first hand always helps!

Thank you in advance!

Also, Is it appropriate to send a thank you note after you interview?

Most important thing you should remember is NOT TO BS!!!! If you don't know an answer tell them. Don't start talking about a drug that you do not know how to spell backwards in your sleep...if you do make sure you know the receptor sites, indications, contraindications, effects, side effects....Typcially the interview board will ask you a question based upon your ICU experience so if you work in a Trauma ICU know "shock" states and the equipment you may use and drugs you utilize to treat a patient. Some ask about balloon pumps but if you don't have any experience tell them. DO NOT TRY TO WING IT!!!! Remember they know more than you do most often. They would rather someone admit they don't know rather than sit there and attempt to talk about it. You waste their time.

Never interviewed in Boston but interviewed at enough schools to know this is how it works!

Honestly it's a nice gesture to send a thank-you card. The secretary will like it!! It never hurts but won't help in regards to getting in.
