This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it's a start, besides what has already been listed.

You will need to know what is normal and what is not normal during each trimester of pregnancy, and field both telephone and in-person questions about same. You will assist with initial physical exams and you'll need to learn to set up for those (usually is on-the-job training). Probably some fetal monitoring will be involved. You'll need to learn how to handle multiple things going on - getting pts back for their regular appointments, calling scripts in to the pharmacy, fielding phone calls from pharmacy, patients, and other medical facilities, and any emergent situations that crop up - at the same time. Prioritization is as big a need in a clinic as it is in a hospital, though the situations may be different.

The last interview I had, they asked me things like: Why should we hire you? What is your vision for your nursing practice? What kind of coworker do you NOT like to work with?

What they said above are things you need to know but if they know you do not have experience there is no way they will expect you to have all that memorized. I did L&D for 3 years and clinic for the last and I still learn everyday adn have to look things up everyday.

Interview just like you would for any othe RN position. Also OBGYN tends to be 30% OB, 60% GYN and 10% everything under the sun.

Good Luck!
