International College of Health Sciences (ICHS), Florida | California LVN interested February 2025 ASN Program

Published

Hi!

I live in California and I took all my nursing prerequisites at a community college and attended a private LVN program. At the end of the day, there's no such thing as a perfect nursing school, I also had my fair share of unpleasant moments during my LVN program. I'm completely aware of the various reviews and unpleasant experiences at ICHS in Florida. But I'm not going to let the negatives discourage me.

I'm interested in continuing my education at ICHS to obtain my Associate's in Nursing. I see the next start date is for February 2025 I have worked alongside many LVNs who have pursued their RN from this college and now they work in hospital settings.

I took the following courses with a grade of, during the year :

English Composition: B during Summer 2018 = 6 years recency

General Psychology: C during Fall 2018 = 6 years recency

Statistics: B during Fall 2019 = 5 years recency

Human Anatomy with lab: B during Spring 2020 = 4 years recency

Microbiology with lab: B during Summer 2020 = 4 years recency

Group Speech/Communications: A during Fall 2020 = 4 years recency

Human Physiology with lab: C during Fall 2020 = 4 years recency

Individual Speech/Communications: B during Fall 2022 = 2 years recency

For those who have previously attended this program or are currently in one of the cohorts, I would greatly appreciate your insight! With that being said some of my questions are:

-Will I have to retake courses that I passed with a "C"?

-For those who are LVNs/LPNs, what was your experience in the APA exams for Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology?

What happens if you don't pass the APA exam?

Do you have any resources I should use for the APA exams, I'd like to study prior, before I begin the process of admissions!

-Do you have recommendations on where to stay for clinical?

My email is: [email protected]

I look forward to connecting with you all, have a blessed day! 😄

I'm also an LVN from CA looking into the ABSN or or ADN program  digging as much info as I can for the February.  I'ma try to complete all pre reqs affiliated with the program

the numerous bad reviews I'm ignoring.   ...  I expected as much especially we did LVN accelerated.  I have previous coworker as bsn now and  coworker in the program and shes making it work.  fundamentals-  but if you did pass it your tuition will be deducted from what I understand $7k at least.

Thanks for the reply! Right...haha no matter what program it's always going to have bad reviews. I'm trying to find forums regarding resources used for the fundamentals and pharm exams so I can ensure I test out of those courses. $7K is a good amount to get deducted, gotta start studying!
