Hi - I have been a nurse for 25+ years. I recently started a job with an IT company that developed and EMR for home health. I have no background in this area. Is there anyone out there willing to share their knowledge with me?
Thanks,
Kathy

Congratulations on your new position! Do you have any specific questions? I've worked with several different EMRs in home health care. If done properly, they can save a lot of time. However, I've seen more examples of systems done poorly in which they don't paint an accurate picture of the patient and what the clinician did in the home.

HealthyNurse, I'd love to hear some recommendations for EMRs that are good for home health. I'm a new DON in home health and we've been researching some ways to go toward computerized charting.
Hi! Thanks for responding! I work for an awesome company called Thornberry LTD (thornberryltd.com) in Lancaster, PA. I have been there for 5 weeks now. The EMR is wonderful and the support from the company is beyond compare. Where are you from? I would love to chat with you!

Hi and thanks for responding! I am having trouble grasping 485's - why cliniciand choose to sometimes pick and choose what goes on them. I have so many questions that I don't know where to start....haha. Am I allowed to post a phone number? I am not a member. Thanks again, Kathy
