I start nursing school on the 16th, and I have been practicing taking blood pressures on my poor, helpful family members, but I would love to see if anyone knows of any interactive resources that let you practice hearing and recording blood pressures?
I've so far found one helpful video that gave 6 different examples of blood pressure readings, with a moving gauge so you could record it and it gave the answers after. Looking for more like this!

You don't look at the gauge to record the numbers, you listen. Then you look at the gauge. People will say you can look at how the needles bumps up and down and to use that, but that's not how nursing school will teach you. Many schools still will teach the two-step method as well.
You need to not worry about these things until you enter nursing school and see what your professors expect. They will also give you great You Tube reaources. You will mess yourself up self-teaching ahead of time.
Relax, enjoy your summer. There's plenty of time later. And really, practicing many al BPs from the Internet even if the process is accurate is not going to get you that far ahead. Entering the fall with a clean, rested mind will be much more beneficial.
Yes, I'm looking for a resource with a working gauge and sound to practice with, not just paying attention to the gauge..I realize it is about listening :)
I start on the 16th of this month, not fall So i have a few days left to relax.

Nothing will teach you as well as practice practice practice and on real people. I feel like taking a manual BP is just something you get a feel for after time. You learn how hard to,press down and where to position. I remember my clinical instructor asking if I was hard of hearing because I didn't hear a BP. Worst case scenario is you get a systolic pressure with a Doppler
Yes, it was very weird to try and do the first few times, but it's a bit easier now that I'm practicing it. Thanks for the advice guys
