Inquiry on Career Change

Published

Hi, I am new to the allnurses website, so apologies in advance if this has already been asked/answered.

I am currently employed but am looking to transition to an RN/BSN degree program. I just got my EMT-B license and my clinical time at the hospital ED and volunteering as an EMT with my town's FD has been an extremely rewarding experience and is the primary driver to change careers.

I have been doing some research online and I have to admit, things are looking pretty bleak at the minute. Most of the programs that I see in the New Hampshire/Mass area require a student in their RN/BSN program to be a full time student. I don't mind taking say evening or weekend courses-this is how I finished my EMT course and that worked well with my work schedule but has anyone else tried to do this and succeeded? And if so, what was your approach in terms of what types of programs to look for and how did you work that into a schedule with your full time day job?

Thanks in Advance!
