Inpatient Rehab Hospital - Is it a good place to get experience as new RN?

Specializes in Rehabilitation Nurse.

I just recently become a RN and got hired in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. I still am so confused as if this is considered as acute, sub acute or post acute setting. In my orientation, they taught us how to blood draw, wound vac, colostomy changes and etc so almost like medical surgical skills. Can I use my experience here to transition in a larger hospital? I do plan to transfer to a different unit in a different hospital but I’m wondering if I can use my experience here to apply.

thank you for all of your nice responses! :)
