Hello All,
Has anyone have any info or experience with the UTMB FNP program mainly with how their rotations, and classes work? I was looking at getting my post masters and all I have left is advanced assessment and the clinical rotations part. Were clinical all up to the student to find locate and set up or did the University have contacts list and locations for information etc. Were all materials online, such as ppt, pod cast, videos. I have heard the school program is designed to be a good fit for the working nurse and flexible. Any input would be great. Thanks

I just passed the FNP certification exam today. I took the AANP exam.
I did not graduate from UTMB but started there in the ACNP program but had to change to an online program midway because of job moves.
The program is good. Advanced Assessment is not an online class.
For the last part of your classes, (since you have taken many of your classes) the ones with clinical rotations, you had to go to class from 1300 to 1600 every Monday. You can call the school to find out if that is till the case.
The school has a lot od clinical sites (in fact, that was an attraction for me) and if you cannot find a site yourself, you will be assigned to a site.
If you have a site in mind, the school will review the site and approve it before you can go there for clinicals.
They also have open houses so you might want to call and find out. You may have to attend an interview to be admitted into the program.
Good luck.
