just wanted to post this, the army started another crna class this june and again we couldn't fill all the slots. i am not a recruiter, i am a graduate of the program and want this program to have much success as the welfare of our soldiers depends on our ability to provide quality care in the combat zone.
people can do inter-service transfers and civilians can apply and if accepted come onto active duty for the program (they are commissioned and are obligated volunteers for 7 years total...30 months of school and 4.5 years of payback.)
any questions please contact me at [email protected] or pm me here.

I think the problem is not the training, but the reputation the Army has for treating its' own. I have worked with a lot of soliders who were generally dissatisified with the Army. Currently the Army has the longest set deployment times and generally a bad public image. I have considered the Army d/t the draw down with USAF, but my friends in the Army have since changed my mind. I personally might reconsider the US Army if they would send me directly to nurse anesthesia school when I transfer. I applied last year with the USAF, but there were only 7 slots last year, and I am unable to reapply this year d/t time on station requirement ( I just moved to Keesler AFB).
