Hello All,

Is there anyone out there that works in infectious disease in- patient teaching hospital ? I was wondering what are you duties( follow up or new consults) ? How do they utilize you ? How does your collaborative doc bill with you ?

I did a clinical rotation in ID with PA and NP. The physicians work close by and sometimes they round with you. Usually we review the chart for history, labs, orders, wounds, and see what was given. Round on the patient and decide antibiotic selection and for how long, facilitate getting infusions outpt if needed, and we saw both new consults and follow up by ourselves or in conjunction with a physician at the end of the day the charting was split between provider.
