Hey everyone! So I graduate in August and I have been applying to jobs around Ohio, where I live. I applied to Wexner Medical Center (OSU's hospital) for their new grad residency program. I received a call back and have been offered to interview in both their Infectious Disease floor and their Hospitalist floor where only no residents round, only the hospitalists. I was hoping for a step-down ICU, but these positions are the most critical medsurg positions they have since all of the critical care new grad positions were taken by the May graduates. Honestly I am completely okay with as a new grad though because it will help me with time management and just overall getting adjusted into the career.
Anyways, does anyone have any experience with infectious disease floors, hospitalist floors, or any advice I can get about the whole interviewing process? I'm interested in the infectious disease floor because of how different it is and how much experience I would potentially get, but honestly I've never heard of that type of floor before. Obviously I will probably be gowned up all the time, etc. but if anyone has worked on one and has some experience or anything to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it!
