In need of reassurance..

Hi all,

I'm in my first year of nursing school and boy is it hard. I know there are a ton of you out there who have gone through hardships and have graduated. Even though its just my first year, I feel EXHAUSTED. I'm currently working a full time 50hours/week non medical job that has proven to be very hard to keep up with along with nursing school. I am unable to quit my job at this time and I'm scared that by the time clinicals start in October, I might not have a job. I am trying to maintain my optimism but its a little tough. Have any of you been successful in holding up a job that had nothing to do with health care and still graduate?

Hey, I am in a similar situation except that I am in my 3rd semester of nursing school, working full time. I just recently (2 weeks ago) put in my letter to work PRN (as needed) because I was getting burned out. Very stressed and not focused like i should be) I still was doing okay in my classes, but as i seen other classmates around me not make it, it made me buckle down even more to realize that I have to struggle some, financially, only temporary, to get where I wanna be. The further you go in your nursing school career, the harder it gets.. BUT!!! There are some of those who still maintain the full time jobs and get the good grades. It is really up to how well you manage YOUR time and balance the work and school. It gets very HARD, but you have to be honest with yourself and know that this isn't easy and working less may be something to consider.
