I'm studying right now and have a question regarding when to give pneumovax booster.
If my pt is 68 years old and has never had a pneumovax shot in his life, I give his first one today at the clinic. Does he qualify for the booster shot 5 years down the line?
If he is 65, does he qualify for the booster shot 5 years down the line?
If he is 63, does he qualify for the booster shot 5 years from now?
Thanks for helping me.

Hi, this can be easily answered using the CDC resources. However, to answer your question if a pt received the vaccine before 65 then they need a revaccination at least 5 yrs after the first. For the 65 & 68 yr olds they only get 1 vaccination.
