I'm an RN now! And can't find a job

Hi all,

I'm a new RN and have been accepted into a Certified Nurse Midwifery program through a reputable state university. Problem is, I cannot find a job. Because of "The Economy," there are very few "new grad" program (akin to a dirty word in the hosptial HR arena.)

I'm truly not understanding where I can go, what I can do, who I can beg to let me get some experience. In the meantime, I'm applying at Taco Bell to make ends meet. They look at me askance when I tell them I'm an RN...:bluecry1:

I'm in the same boat as you, sort of. I'm just a regular old BSN that graduated in May and have been searching for employment since February.

I can't even get a job as a medical tech! I'm trying to get into the military at the moment but boy what a headache it is even trying to get recruiters to contact me!

Maybe my future includeTaco Bell as well...

I too am in the same boat. I graduated in May from an accelerated BSN program and now have my license but can't seem to find a job anywhere. Sadly, places like walmart and other stores won't even hire me. It's so frustrating and stressful, it's hard to make ends meet without an income and there are so few new grad programs left.

I tried contacting some recruiters and they seem to want to hang up the phone when I tell them I am a new grad :banghead:

Me too, I graduated in May from B.S.N. program and obtained my license, but I could not find a job, no one of hospitals wants to hire new graduate nurses, I have no income, no health insurance, sounds like no hope in my life! When it is the end!
