I'm Nervous for the NCLEX and my future

Published

You all have heard this all before...I know...but I am. I'm a 3rd year nursing student, one more year and a lot of my peers are getting jobs as CNAs right now. I've applied, but havn't gotten a call back as yet and though I've been doing pretty well in nursing school, I always feel so incompetent when it comes to Patho/Pharm and med surg. It's like I didn't learn anything.

The nursing school I go to now is pretty good, those who know the school, know that they teach us well and work with us to ensure we "Get it" but for the life me, everytime I go into the hospitals, I feel like...D: I do well, my reviews are well, but I cannot rattle out Patho/Pharm and Med-Surg info off the top of my head!!!

I can't throw out Nursing diagnosis at the drop of a hat or the mention of a medical diagnosis and this freaks me out alot!

I keep looking for the breakdown of the NCLEX-RN exam because I really want to know how much of it is Patho/Pharm and Med-Surg and not patient care.

I know I'll be a good nurse because I'm caring, I have the energy to keep moving, and though I'm not sociable, I have really good communication skills, I'm mindful of others, self aware and aware of others, and I just know that I have those skills to really thrive in the world of nursing. But Patho/Pharm and Med-Surg? Panic attacks.

If anyone has the breakdown for the exam and can give me more insight, I'd love that. Thank you.
