I'm currently going to school for LVN

Published

Hello, my name is Erika and I have a question. I am from California and I'm a CNA and about to go to school for LVN which is a $31,000 program. If my CNA license was revoked would I still be able to become an LVN in California ? I don't want to take the course for LVN if I can't take the NCLEX-PN exam and become a LVN. The reason why my CNA license may be revoked is because I thought I did the person I did my CEUs was legit person but from what I was told she wasn't and she is under investigation and my cna certificate maybe suspended or revoked. I'm super freaking out because my and my daughters future depends on me becoming an LVN I've wanted to be an RN since I was 6yrs old and this was the first time I needed to renew my CNA certificate please help me thank you

Summary of Requirements for Licensure as a Vocational Nurse - Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians

I don't quite understand your situation. The board of nursing will want to know if you have something on your criminal record. But the CNA licensure is tied in with the BON.

I had my CNA certificate for two years and I needed to renew it so I was taking the classes with a lady who ended up being fake so the "courses" I took were not valid. I found out because the CDPH called to advise me that the paperwork she had me submit was not valid CEUs and she has been under investigation and I was not the only CNA she scammed so now my certificate will be either suspended or revoke due to fraudulent documentation. I spoke with a rep from CDPH and she told me not to quite my dream of becoming an LVN and RN but she is not sure if the state will allow me to take the NCLEX-PN exam if my certificate is revoked. The school I will be attending cost $31,000 and if I can't become an LVN i just want to give up.

I read the summary requirements you posted, thank you, so from what I can see I maybe able to take the exam. Please correct me if I'm wrong
