And I'm excited about it, nervous.. I don't know why, because I know what to expect and all!

I became an aide a month before I turned 19 - this was 14 years ago! I was an aid for 8 years. I quit to become a SAHM.

My husband works from home. I want to go back to work because I miss it!!

I miss being and aid.. Yes somedays were hard, somedays were easy, but all in all, I loved it!

I'm so excited to get back into it again!

Neat!! You can have my job.

Just joking !! Kind of.

Actually, that's really wonderful!! :yeah: The healthcare field needs more CNA's like YOU!! If I was ever a resident in a facility I'd like someone taking care of me that has your spirit. :heartbeat

Sorry if I sound like a 'downer' but I've become discouraged about the environment I work in. Facility politics, administrative favoritism, low pay and backbreaking workload have tarnished my image of what a CNA's career should be. If I lived in a bigger city I'd have the option of finding a better work environment, where I live there are very few choices available to CNA's.

You are very fortunate, however -- you can choose to re-enter this field voluntarily because of your love of this kind of work rather than doing it because there's no other way to pay the rent. If you love taking care of people, there's no other job out there that is quite as rewarding !!

I've worked in hospital settings (Ped) and Nursing homes (2 different places) and I can totally understand how you feel about being overwhelmed and discouraged. I felt that way several times, but just seeing the residents and being with my friends was all I needed to keep going - This time around, I am going to either do Agency or Home Health :D
