ICU payscale in New Jersey

Published

Hello to New Jersey ICU nurses,

I am hoping someone could offer me some advice....thankyou.

I am considering moving to New Jersey once I have about two years experience in ICU under the belt.

I am wondering how the payscale works in New Jersey. For example, does the wage go up incrementally each year? If so, then what would a third year ICU nurse get paid?

I understand there are many variable to the actual final wage, so really I am more interested in if there is a SET STANDARD payscale that New Jersey nurses are paid accordingly.

I am currently working in a payment system that continues to pay the nurse incremental rises in pay, each 12 months, over an eight year period, where it plateaus without further qualifications. Is this similar to the system in NJ?

Thankyou for any assistance you can offer on this matter!

It partially depends if your hospital has unionized nurses. Those hospitals with union contracts have pay scales that change every few years, depending on when the contract is up for renewal.

Also, many New Jersey hospitals also offer extra pay for working evenings, having special certifications (like CCRN), and for possessing advanced degrees.

Thanks energizernurse,

That is what i was hoping you would say.

What differences would you expect at non-unionised facilities?

Thanks again

Where in Jersey? I love it there! Do you already have a hospital picked out?
