Or not just UTMB, but any nursing school.I currently attend the university of texas at austin, and the nursing school there is out of question for me. I would like to know the average GPA of acceptance at UTMB. I am only in my spring semester of my freshman year and I will most likely have barely a 3.0 overall at UT. However, I have taken over 30 hours of prereq courses at a community college with an aprox gpa of 3.6. Will UTMB average my two gpas? In addition do they look for anything else such a volunteering?

Most nursing schools just look at your GPA for your prerequisite courses, so make sure you check with UTMB to see what those are. I'm sure volunteering at a hospital will make you a more attractive candidate. I am in the process of applying to Baylor and I've got my admissions stuff lined up for UTA and Brookhaven the following semester in case Baylor doesn't work out. There are some great options in Texas and there are a few threads on here about each. If you need any extra info about this, feel free to PM me. :) Hope this helps - good luck!!
