Last time I took the CNA skills exam, I didn't even make it through all 5 skills in 25 minutes. Atleast this time I made it through all 5 skills...
I had weigh an ambulatory client. The bottom was 150 and the top was 14....I put the 174 on the scale... :\ I did not realize until I was at home.
Then, I had to feed the client...I forgot the clothing protector... Last time when I took the skills, when I was a client the person had this skill and forgot to put the clothing protector on too...did they jinx me? lol
Then I had to put the stocking on the client. The client had really chubby ankles....It took really long since I only practiced on the maniken...
Then...I had peri-care. I had 6 mins left. It took me 2 mins to find the supplies. The evaluator confused me because when I asked him where the "incontinent pad" was...he said I'm looking at it...and I was actually refering to what he calls a diaper :argue: (he was referring to a bed protector)....so I wound up picking the wrong thing. When I asked him after I was done cleaning the client, he said I did not need to do change them even though it says in the handbook to change......
So confused about this skill now....
There was already a bed protector on the bed when I went to go do the skill anyway!!!!! He didn't show me how to operate the bed before hand.....
He didn't watch me through half the steps of any skill!!!
Heck, he was preparing food for the client while I was washing my hands and weighing the client!
Then when the client leaves, he calls her "dumb"!
What in the world...you know?

I'm sorry about your bad experience. It sounds like you had a hard time. I'm aware of how nervous you can be doing the skills in front of the examiner who you don't even know. I took my state exam fairly recently and had to take a BP. I thought and knew I failed it because I had to do it 3 times due to being nervous and a talking client, lol. But when I got my results I had passed all 5 including BP. So you never know how well you did until you get your results. Also when doing pericare was this a bedbath? Its strange though that you would have to put a depends diaper on a client in a state skills exam. Pericare is simply just cleaning the private areas which is mostly done in a bedbath. Now incontinent care is the whole care of pericare and changing a depends. Also, yes he was right a incontinent pad is the not the diaper but the pad you put on the bed on top of the fitted sheet. But on the state exam atleast in my state this wasn't something done. Also pericare would of been on a maniken verbalizing the steps. Overall, though it seems like you didnt have a good experience with your examiner. But, just hope for the best! You wont know exactly how you did until you get your results. I'm sure you passed! And I wish you the best of luck!
