I shall ask the men (Schooling) (Fl nurses?)

Nurses Men

Maybe not the correct forum but I figured i would be spending most of my time in this section anyway.. I suppose I could start off with the typical as/rn or aa/bsn question but I have had those pretty much understood for awhile.

However, After reading it seems to me that so many refer to the pay about being the same, Yet I have 2 female friends actually in the AS/RN .. ADN program right now and in "florida" the teachers are telling them they should of gotten their BSN's since hospitals are trying to make it required due to the influx in people now taking the program.

I am hurt even more as I do not speak spanish and thats something I suppose the hospitals here would be looking for considering the demographic here keeps getting larger in spanish population.

Can anyone put my worries to ease? I had lost my job and decided I was sick of unstable IT jobs.. Regardless of the pay the .com boom is over and changing jobs every year and a half is getting old to me. So here I am at 30 knocking back on my parents door.. Having to go back to college and half of my classes are not even credited, as they are pre req classes.

Id like to not live at home until I am 35, I think thats a nice goal to shoot for, Of course I do have to admit there are some perks to being back home as long as I can brush off being kind of "Red faced" at the situation.

Would any of the recent male nurses choose to get their BSN over their ADN? or reversed? From what I am hearing I will be lucky if I can find a 32k a year job at a retirement home with my ADN here in orlando. Yet if I get my BSN I will be getting 60 a year and a magical porsche and perhaps a unicorn etc. Or is it all BS?

Im just scared I will get my ADN and then be upset a couple years later I didnt get my BSN, And honestly I know myself and there is no way I could do 12 hour days plus getting a bsn considering the work load I have seen thus far from my friends.

Get your Associates first so you can start working and your mom and dad can get back to walking around the house nakid again and get your BS online.

If you already have a degree then go for an accelerated 2nd BS or a direct-entry MSN. For me, those were faster routes than going the community college route.

Thanks guys! Is the online BS degree tough though? I do feel bad that they cant walk around the house naked :( And the fact the indoor "swing" is now a holder for fake vine plants.

Hopefully the work load isnt that much.
