I am starting the MSN program at Rush, hopefully in June 2009, but what I would like to know from current nurses (your help is greatly appreciated) is that can RN's find 8H shifts and stick to it or does that fluctuate and you are forced to work 12H shifts? Is it harder to find nursing jobs, especially ER jobs as MSN as oppose to BSN, or does that not matter? How do you like your job as an ER nurse? and of course I have to ask about the pay, are you satisfied? are you able to live a decent life? I am planning on working as a nurse for a couple years (I have a situation here forcing me to do so. I do not mind being a nurse at all, and I might end up sticking to it), and then planning on attending medical school.
Your help is greatly appreciated and hope to get some feedback.
Thanks a lot, and have a happy and blessed 2009 and beyond.
