Ok guys, i am a new member to this site so i apologize in advance for any mistakes!
This is my first discusion an i have been wanting and needing some advice.
I am currently a college student trying to pursue a nursing career. I attend a community college that accepts LPN and RN.
I graduated early from highschool(christian/private school) and never was introduced to ACT's and compass test until i entered college. when i entered college and found out my admission requirements for nursing school i wanted to cry. i needed a high ACT score, a high TEAS test score, and a high GPA in my pre-reqs (A&P I&II). After finding out all of that i went straight and signed up for my ACT and studied until the time to take it. like i said i never had been introuduced to an ACT so i really just wanted to know my placement in where i would be after taking the ACT so i would know how much more studying i would need to do ect. i took my ACT for the first time, got my scores back an i had a composite score of a 16. i felt awful but that didnt stop me, i new i had to bring it up but in the mean time i went and got signed up for all of the classes i would need to be accepted into the LPN programm ( im sorry i didnt mention that earlier but i want to take it step by step and go to lpn first)
as i was signing up for classes i overheard some teachers talking about the upcoming CNA program that they teach at my college and i immediatly went an signed up.
currently now i am enrolled in a CNA program on mondays an wednesdays and on tuesdays an thursdays i have my A&P class.
i cannot stress hhow much i love my CNA class. i love my teacher an i love the students. it is only a 3 month program but i am making amazing grades an i thought this class would give me a great opportunity to first get introduced to the nursing field, i understand nurses haave more responsibility than a cna but you know what i mean... this was my first step.
after this class ends i will go to state and become certified. i will then only have classes on tuesdays and thursdays.
i plan to keep my grades up to all A's if possible and study HARD for my ACT on mondays and wednesdays and over the weekends. i plan to also order the sudy manual for the TEAS test off of ATi and study for that some also.
after i can my ACT up as much as possible and i feel that i can take the TEAS i plan to do that. i plan to work as hard as i have to to be able to get accepted into nursing. its what i want to do and i cannot stress that enough.
all i really want to know is if im doing everything right or is there more i need to do and what else yall might think that i need to do,, sorry it is so long but i needed to explain. thanks so much.
