Which is why I want to travel. :spin: It will be way in the future... I'm still in nursing school and have young kids. (I don't plan to travel with them). But anyway, my question is this. I have a number of hospitals near me, but they are all small hospitals. How do I go about getting the type of experience that I really need to be a good travel nurse? I don't mean just putting in the time and have 2 years under my belt, but actually learning more than what these hospitals are capable of? In order for me to work at a bigger hospital I would have to travel at least 1 hour one way. And Lord knows what the gas prices will be in two years? Has anyone gone through this and worked in a higher level hospital as a travel nurse? Are you able to "hit the ground running?" TIA
