I have an interview next wk.PLS HELP!

I hope this helps.....What I did when I went in for an interview I just dressed professionally, and I didn't wear a uniform....It all depends on the school that you're going to and who you will be meeting.....I met with an Admissions Director and also the Director of the LVN Program.....If you present yourself as a mature person and you take everything they say as something positive you should be fine....I hope this helps...if you have any other questions please let me know....and good luck!

I would suggest brushing up on calculations. I did have to do several at one interview. It is a good idea to practice answers to some questions. As with nclex, remember safety is important. I would not wear scrubs to an interview, but that might just be me? I always feel it is important to make a good first impression. Wearing a suit is good, or perhaps slacks and a conservative shirt or sweater.

Keep good eye contact. Know what your long term professional goals are and be prepared to discuss instances when you were under pressure, had to deal with difficult situations, and how you prioritize.

Look at the interviewer. Don't look out the window or around the room. If you're nervous, it's ok to say so. They should understand. Remember normally the questions are not TRICK questions even though they may sound like one. You may be asked what you feel your strengths are. How did you do on your appraisal at your last employment. OH, a biggie...make sure your resume' doesn't have gaps. You need to list everything from graduating high school to college to where ever you went from there to work. We really look at 'gaps' in resumes. If you have had previous medical experience, you may be asked to describe your duties or give details of your daily duties as well as YOUR direct responsibilities. Try to be specific but don't over sell yourself to have been the best thing since sliced bread. You might be asked why you chose the medical field. What makes you want to work for this particular practice or company. What might your former co-workers have to say about your strengths or what would they say you needed to work on and would you agree. What is the longest time you have been away from your position. How would you describe your attendance and work ethics. Would your past co-workers be excited or upset that you left your former employment. How would you handle a rude or disgruntled patient or family member. Can you describe how you would diffuse a risky situation. Of course the obvious, you may be asked to explain what a PPE is. When you had your last TB, Hep, TD, etc. That's a lot off the top of my head. Hope that helps some. OHOHOH... and DON"T SHOW CLEAVAGE.
