Congrats on getting into UT's program! I had a quick question. I am an icu nurse in the Houston area getting ready to apply next year for hopeful entrance in 2010. My question is....I see that UT requires organic chem as a prereq? Did you take this or will they accept general chem? I would like to apply to all the schools in TX but would prefer to stay in Houston and would love to be a Longhorn. I basically am trying to decide if I should take the organic chem before I get ready to apply.
Thanks! (and remember....you are a longhorn now, so display your bevo proudly!)

Hi icustar,
Yes, you have to have O-chem to get an interview, but it really isn't bad. I personally liked it better than physical chemistry because you can see how it relates to biological processes.
Good luck.
I talked with the PD about not having O-chem completed by the time you apply and he said that they prefer it to be completed by application time but it does not detract from your application if you send them a transcript with your application showing you are currently enrolled.
So that's what I did and it worked for me! Best of luck to you.

Congratulations to everyone.!! I won't believe this until I get the official letter. Its so exciting!!. I was wondering if you all know the classes that the school allows us to register for and take in summer prior to beginning of the class. I misplaced the imfrmtion letter we were given on the day of the interview. Thanks.

I just got my interview letter today for UTHSC Houston CRNA program. This will be my first grad school interview ever! Any advice on what to prepare for before the interview? I'm currently working on deep breathing :)
Thanks!
