I got in!!

The local university here offers a traditional BSN program as well as an accelerated BSN (I already have a bachelor's). The accelerated program is a good fit for me because it's faster, but they require several additional prereqs and their app deadline's January instead of June. Every time I called the office to ask if I should apply even if my prereqs weren't done in January I was told "Well, you can apply if you really WANT to, but it'll be a longshot and we'll look at your application after everyone else who has already completed their work," which is kind of discouraging. After a lot of soul searching and a good talking-to with my dad and boyfriend, I applied anyway.

The week after the application deadline I got a call for an interview. I went in and told them I was applying for both programs because I had gotten discouraging messages from the accelerated program office, and the program director told me that she didn't think I needed to worry about what those other people told me. So I was encouraged, but the FAQ literature I received indicated that they will start accepting in March and not accept me until my prereqs are done, which won't be until June.

So today I get this little, skinny envelope in the mail. As we all know, you want the fat envelope, not the skinny one. I opened it up, and the first sentence was thanking me for my application, which I usually find at the beginning of rejection letters. And then.. at the bottom of the first paragraph... I'm accepted!

I have to register for classes by May 19th and orientation is the middle of August. It's not very far away! Good luck to all of you and may the good news envelopes, fat or skinny, start pouring in!

hehe, don't we all like online registration nowadays, it seems like more and more, schools don't send the fat package, 'coz registration is online.

Way to make the "opening" process even more stressfful :uhoh3:

Congrats, on your entrance. I am gonna start taking prereqs for an MSEPN, and 'hoping I have the joy of being accepted in the school that I am shooting for.
