I got reprimanded at work for not using a bra !

Something happened to me at Wednesday that i thought i would never hear.

I was told by my team leader that bouncing breasts are very inappropriate in the workplace.

There had been several complains on me for a long time (she claims).

And that i from now on, always had to use a bra.

Was she right to correct me like that, should i complain on her ?

Everyone else has answered, so why not me too...

I could never go braless, and I'm *only* a 36D. The material would hurt, you'd see EVERYTHING, and what about the heat? I get warm running around my house braless, and it feels gross when they sweat under and in-between. That feeling under a nice non-breathable scrub? ICK.

And who calls it "using" a bra? I thought women WEAR bras. Is this another slang for it that I don't know about (cause I should know them ALL).

Can you pass the pencil test?

When I entered an LPN program about 10 years ago, my instructor asked the class the above question. This is a test to determine if you can go without a bra. You take a pencil and place it under your breast. If the pencil stays when you release it, you failed the pencil test and must always wear a bra. ;)

They have pads that can go under the bra strap. Also, you may want to consider getting a professional bra fitting. If you are experiencing pain, you may be wearing the wrong type or size.

Good luck!

I used to fail the pencil test (haha) and I STILL wore one then. ICK!

unfreakinbelievable...

yeah definatly wear a bra--- :)

I have a cousin that was a 'certified bra fitter' for Nordstroms and they actually put them through quite a bit of training to know how to fit someone with the proper undergarment.

She has always said that most women come in, pull a size off the shelf, and it's the wrong size.

A good, well-fitting bra should not be painful.

A surgical procedure needing labeled a crime against humanity.

I know many men don't see the need for breast reduction surgery, but really, it can be a great thing. Very painful to recover from but it can be no fun to have big breasts. My mom developed early and had guys screaming rude things at her when she was still a kid(11 years old). She gets back pain and the straps of her bra dig into her shoulders.

I believe many insurance companies(at least here in the US) will cover it too, especially in cases of back pain, or where the pts skin is having issues. I used to work often with a plastic surgeon who did these cases and you wouldn't believe how much breast tissue we'd remove on some women. We're talking 6lbs a breast..I can't imagine having to lug that around. I used to hate my little boobies but at least they're still perky!!:D

And there are plenty of places to get measured properly for bras..I read an article recently that said the majority of women are wearing the wrong size.

breast reduction is done for the patients health present and future:

the weight of the breast can cause back pain, arthritis, big ridges in shoulders

to op. what exactly did you mean by reprimand, was this a talk or was it a written reprimand?? who was there?? some facilities have a rule that a verbal discussion with an employee has to have two management people there as to the loud have you frequently heard her talking loud or was it just this occasion

if there were lateral nurses there or if she was abnormally loud then it was done in a tactless way

but wearing a bra is probably what you will face anywhere you go so try and invest in some good quality, comfortable bras

I was reprimanded in nursing school because my bra was not effective enough (I have very large bosoms...no, I'm not proud of them. I just learned the neighborhood kids-especially the boys-know me as "Jugs." How much more demeaning can you get???)

Anyway, why on earth would bouncing breasts be suitable in a professional setting, unless you were an actress doing a remake of Airplane.

wow! are you kidding me?:icon_roll does this question even warrant a reply?:banghead:
