I had one day in the NICU for my OB clinical. While walking around in the postpartum area, I noticed something I found interesting and wanted to grad your thoughts on it. While walking around the NICU, there seems to be a lot of younger nurses. While in postpartum seemed to have only older nurses. Idk what to think, that nurses in L&D, etc don't want to leave their jobs because they're joyful (most of the time) and NICU nurses find that environment stressful and eventually leave? Or are NICUs more willing to train new grads? Just an observation...curious as to what you guys think about this...
