I am a fourth semester BSN student this fall 09 and I failed adult med-surg and lab due to some issues. I have being so depressed since I saw my final grades. I have being in this nursing program for four semesters and I failed almost at the end. I mean I have one more semester left and I screwed up. I don't know where to go from here now. I don't know If I should take the lpn exam, or maybe I can transfer to another school with the classes I have already completed. I went online to see if I am qualified to take the the NCLEX-PN but my nursing school didn't offer "geriatric nursing" but I have taken the other courses including mental health. I need some advice, please help....

Won't your school let you re-take the class? The school I'm at allows for one failed class....only one.
I wish I could, but I got a D in both the class and the lab.

You should speak to your advisor, she/he will know the school policy and It's unlikely that you're the first one who has gone through this. Good Luck!!

I agree with dknyb. There has to be a way for your to remediate and retake the class you did poorly in. Even if it sets you back, at least you'll get the oppportuniy to complete what you've works for. Put up a fight!

I agree with the other two posters, talk to your advisor! The worst you can hear is no that you can't be accepted back in..and at this point, you are already prepared for that. If you can't get back in, contact other schools in your area, tell them your situation and see if you can apply there..even if you are set back a semester or two, it is better than not finishing IMO. Don't give up on your dream just because of a letter grade..keep fighting and most importantly keep your head up! There are options out there you just have to go find out what they are, they won't come to you! I wish you the best of luck!
