I am looking at distance-accessible MSN Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Programs. I came across Husson University's program via NursingCAS, and the curriculum looks really good, and it looks affordable. Has anyone been through this program who would be willing to share information about it? Specifically looking for how much you're able to work during the program, length of program, satisfaction etc.

Hi, I'm the Director of the Program, so I can tell you a little bit about it. The program is roughly 30 months in length and you can work FT until the last 18 months; then there simply aren't enough hours in the week, minutes in the day to manage it. Most people choose to go per diem at that point or work all w/es (like Fri/Sat/Sun nights, etc., if they must be FT for benes, etc.) -- that's what I did when I was in school. I can't tell you about satisfaction, although this program ran for 20+ years, then took a hiatus x2 years while we re-vamped to change to a "Family" from an "Adult" Program, so now the new cohort is in their second semester; we're adding another new cohort for Fall 2016 (we have 4 openings left), but apps close on 03.30.2016. Hope this helps a bit...
Thank you, that was very helpful! I submitted my application last week.
