HPRP - Michigan

Hi everyone,

I’m embarrassed to have to post this but I have some questions regarding criminal convictions and the BON in Michigan. In 2017 I got a OWVI while in nursing school, was able to sit for my boards. Well this passed March, I was in a taco bell parking lot and fell asleep and was convicted of a reckless driving ticket and they tacked on an open intoxication non motor vehicle even though there were none. I was originally arrested for owi 2nd. I was arrested and all that jazz. I hired a lawyer to get that plea deal and additionally hired a law firm to aid in the board reporting.

I reported it to the board but I’m just curious if anybody got a reckless driving conviction and what the BON did/seen it as. I know with my passed it doesn’t help, but I just wanted some insight if I should expect the board to take action? I had a friend who got a reckless driving and didn’t report it prior to getting her license and they did nothing.

I’m following what my lawyer says I should do but he represents most nurses who get second duis, but that’s not the case for me. They lost some video of my arrest, so that’s why I was able to argue it.

I deeply regret my decisions and have been concurrently working towards a better life. Thanks in advance for your help.
