How to transfer an OR CNA license to WA

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Hi, I'm currently working on my Oregon CNA 1 license. As I understand it, Washington doesn't have a CNA 1 & 2 program, but just one CNA program. Does anyone know if I need to take the CNA 1 & 2 program to be able to transfer my Oregon license to Washington? I know that there is a required HIV/AIDS course for the Washington license but what other requirements would I need to fulfill to transfer my license? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi, I thought this might be helpful:

http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/Professions/Nursing_Assistant/forms.htm

Apparently they started requiring fingerprint background checks as of 1/1/09 for out-of-state applicants for ~$35. The application fee for CNAs and RNAs (I'm still confused about the specific differences between the two) is $30. The info about HIV/AIDS training is on the above website (I did mine online).

I don't know what the difference is between the two you mentioned, but you can contact the WA DOH at (360) 236 - 4700.

Hope this helps! :)
