How do your patients find you?

Today I tried to make an appointment for my daughter at a primary care office via the appointment line. They said they are booked months out. I said thats strange because yeaterday I was told I could get her in the following day. They said sorry sir that appointment must be gone.

I drove to the office in person and they were able to get my daughter in with a NP. Its like the appointment center just forgets they have NPs. So I get online and google "NP" "FNP" and "nurse practitioner" in the city I live and really didnt get any results.

A close friend has their own practice as a NP and has plenty of available appointments each day in a large city where doctors are booked weeks out. She says NPs are hard to find on insurance listings too.

So my question to NPs is: how do your patients find you? Do you think its hard for patients looking for primary care to find you?
